I have been searching for years to find an easy to use app for my coin inventory. This is it! There are features that I have not even explored yet. I love it. Great to include in family wills, etc. Support is great.

I was hoping that this app existed!! Thank you SaintsSoft for not only putting this together, but keeping it current and providing excellent support all while at a very reasonable price point. After I had purchased the app I had a question about the app and wrote an email to support. I received the answer that same day in way more detail than I could have expected. This is perfect. As a bonus, I use primarily on my Mac but the iPad version is a great way to casually view/research while on the go or in my TV chair. There is a good way to sync the data (including photos) between devices while maintaining a backup in the cloud. An area where the application really excels is if you also collect certified coins (ie coins gradded by NGC, PCGS, ANAC etc). The built in reports are fantastic. It also allows for tracking or managing any bars or rounds (Silver/gold bullion) that you may keep. A very feature rich app. I highly reccomend.
This is a great coin collecting App, does everything a coin collector needs. Also, I can sync my collection with the same App running on my iPad. Very cool. One complaint -- please support OS/X Version 10.7 too! Thanks
WOW! That was my first response after spending about 5 minutes playing around with this App for Coin Collecting. I have been waiting forever to have a really good quality coin collecting Application on my Mac. Till now, Ive had to run a Windows App to manage my coins, very inconvienent :P I love the photos, ability to add coins so easily, and the reports are spot-on. Keep up the great work!
This App replaces my use of Collectors Assistant, a Windows App I was running on an old Windows Laptop. Now I can finally get rid of that old Laptop, and stop having to use Windoz Has everything I needed in Collectors Assistant, and is much easier to use. Very happy, this is easily worth the $$. I was paying $150 for the other App.
I was looking for full-featured Mac coin collecting software that had the ability to sync with my iPhone and iPad. This is it! It allows you to to display pictures, track PCGS serial #s and perform cloud backups.
I always had a difficult time tracking my inventory and then sharing this information with my family. This app allows me to organize my inventory in an easy to read manor so that my husband will feel comfortable. He is not as involved in the coin world and needs a good place to view our coin assets. This app is perfect for this! Thank you!
After using the program for a few days I have come to the conclusion that this coin program falls far short for what you have to pay for it. Unless you collect only certified coins, you will be greatly disappointed since it seems directed at them and is very limited when it comes to raw coin cataloging and pricing. Not at all customizable or user friendly. All collectors collect and categorize their collections in different ways and want their reports and inventory spreadsheets to be able to be customized/edited to show only the desired fields for each collector. For some reason, the developer felt that his layout was the only one anyone would ever want and made it almost non-customizable. What you get is a long spread out page with un-necessary fields that can neither be deleted or new fields added. Many dollars wasted IMO. I deleted it and went back to my mac/ipad numbers spreadsheet. I may not have all the nice photos, etc. but at least I have a product that is completely flexible to suit the individual collector.
Great app. I’ve had no problems and it is a great way to catalogue my collection. I’d definitely recommend this to any coin collector!!
This is a good app for cataloging your collection, one thing I wish it had is Canadian coins as well. About quarter of my collection consits of Canadian coins and bullion. The developer has done a great job and you can’t beat the price!
I haven’t gotten real deep into this app and I’m a very novice coin collector but I like it. It was worth the $29.99 for me. BTW they appear to be a smaller developer and update often. I haven’t found anything I like better in the App Store. I like supporting folks like this.
I recently got back into coins and was looking to organize my somewhat scattered collection - enter US Coin! This app certainly beats the old paper or spreadsheet methods. From what I’ve seen it also offers more than competing apps. I like the integration with PCGS Coin Facts - very helpful reference for approximate grade and numerous statistics (weight, mintage, price, etc). Possible bugs: 1) If you first save a new coin without adding a photo, it doesn’t let you add a photo later - it still shows the default image. 2) Dragging the corner to make the Edit window larger makes some UI elements appear funny (alignment, stretching, etc). Small feature requests: 1) New window (such as for Edit) should open in the same location as the previous one. I tend to have many windows/apps open in specific locations (browser, photos, etc) & this would help my workflow. 2) If you are editing a coin which already has a Type, then selecting ‘Type’ button should automatically go to the currently selected values. Right now it is empty and you need to enter the info again. Medium feature requests: 1) Copy/Duplicate function for coins. Helpful for case when you have two similar coins - it would save some data entry. Copy/Duplicate should not include things which are specific to an individual coin - weight, notes, photo, etc 2) I expected a context menu to appear with Right-Click on a coin row in the main collection table (Edit, Copy, etc) Large feature request: (this one is lower priority for me): ability to Share a coin, such as by creating a formatted email with the facts + photos of a specific coin
This is, by far, the best coin collecting app for the Mac available. I have quite an extensive coin collection that I’ve amassed over the past 15-20 years. During that time I’ve purchased and tried many different coin inventory apps, both PC and Mac based. None measure up to the capabilities of this app. Along with the companion iPad/iPhone app, the capabilities are numerous. The support, as well, from the developer is second to none. External linkages to PCGS, eBay, Heritage Auction, etc., are a real plus in valuing and understanding what’s in your collection. I would recommend this to both serious and casual collectors. Looking forward to continuing to catalogue my entire collection.
I have been using Excel spreadsheets to keep an inventory of my coins. This app is fantastic. Easy to use and configurable. You can easly back up to DropBox and restore it to a differnet computer. Feature request. I would love to see a real time price update to a service like PCGS so the market value of the coins could be updated daily.
I have been using this app for about a month and have found it to work well. The links within the app to search different resources are very helpful. Also, the ability to do cloud/on-line backups is a plus as I download the collection to the iphone app for when I am out looking for new coins. This one is a keeper!
Seems like a great software alternative to an Excel spreadsheet or other database software program. However, it is made for PCGS coins. If you have a lot of NGC slabbed coins, it doesn’t fit the categories, look up, or grading. If this would integrate the NGC system as well, it would be perfect! Unfortunately, I’ve requested a refund on this one as it doesn’t fit my needs.
I don’t have a big collection, and not many of my coins are slabbed. But this app is just what I needed. Coins are easy to enter and ID with a PCGS number and your own inventory . Since I work on a MacBook and an iMac it’s nice being able to backup to Dropbox, so app on both macs stays current. Thanks again for a great app.
I really like this app. I am finally going to get my collection catalogued in one place. Easy to use and the best part is updates come often and are based on user feedback. I think that is the most thing one can get with an app of this type. Keep up the good work.
I was looking for a good app on Mac (and iOS) to organize a family coin collection. There aren’t a whole lot to choose from! This app has most of the features I would care about and is relatively intuitive and easy to use. While it is a paid app I think you get what you pay for including support and updates from the developer. I especially like that you select US coin Types and issues from a drop down and that for each of these coins there displays a prepared link to say PCGS Coinfacts where you can look up the value of your coin or compare its appearance to other coins recently auctioned. This is a big time saver. John the developer is very responsive, wants to make the app better and has recently been fixing small issues- showing that this is not a dead app. Most of the coin apps I looked at have a circa 1990 Windows look to them and this one is a lot cleaner and, while it could be missing a few high end customization features, it should be sufficient and easy to use for most people looking to catalog and track the value of their collection.
I recently bought this software (2/16), and had some initial problems using it, so I emailed for support. After 24 hours I received nothing, so I emailed a follow-up. After another 24 hours I still had no response, so I followed up with another email, expressing my disappointment and indicating I would be disputing the charge and deleting the software. A day after that I received an email indicating I had no right expecting a response in 24 hours, that this was a hobby for him and not a business, and that I was “fired” for being "too stupid" to be a customer of his — an apparant reference to the question I asked in my original email. My response to that was not fit for relaying here in polite company, but, in addition to commenting on his (awful) customer relations/support skills, I told him his ads for the software should disclose to potential buyers that they should not expect timely responses when they need help, since this is a hobby and not a business, and that help will arrive only when he finds the time from his regular job. I believe you’re either in business or you’re not, and if you present yourself as a business you should function as one — or else clearly disclose if otherwise. I also found little guidance included with the software, and either it sorely lacked key elements of what I expected, or they were there but without easy or instinctive means of using them. I am not a computer nerd, but I’ve been using them since 1979 and I have above-average knowledge/skills, and can typically find my way through and around most software even if I’m unfamiliar with it. I do, however, expect reasonable customer support both in timliness and decorum, neither of which I found with this. In short, the business owner should either not be in business, or he should hire an effective support person/service (assuming he could find someone willing to work for him). Regarding the software itself, it certainly didn’t meet my needs or expectations. I would rate this NO stars if that were an available choice.
